Pasko Na Naman!

December 24th, 2008

Maligayang Pasko! (Merry Christmas), it happens once a year, just ONE DAY but seems like its a three month or four month long of celebration.  I never really like xmas, maybe because It wasnt a big day ever since I was a kid, New Year is more memorable for me than xmas. New Year is when we get our gifts and new year is when Mom & Dad will gather everyone and offer a family thanksgiving prayers for all the blessings that we received the past year and be gratefull for everything that we will continue to receive in the coming year.

Anyway, what I really want to blog about are the different xmas day I had, like I said in Pinas its not that big for me, I grew up knowing that xmas is for kids, so as I get older its nothing important, though we make sure we have ‘Pansit’ (Filipino noodle) in the house because its my sister’s birthday.  When I moved to Palau, its nothing memorable either because I was working or I’m home in Pinas for xmas.  Then, here in the U.S., xmas is nothing but an ordinary day, most businesses are close aside from some retail stores.  But, I would say xmas day here is my most ’memorable’ of all, because usually xmas day we go for a drive, my favorite place is the Santa Cruz Wharf, we spend the whole day at the wharf, play in the arcade at the Boardwalk. It was so much fun!  Last year we went to Yosemite National Park to spend xmas day.

This year…it will be something I will remember not because its memorable but  because its the first xmas that we will not be going for a road trip and we are not together, its good its only one day…hopefully next year will be a different xmas.

To all of you, hope your Christmas will be a memorable and meaningful one.  Merry Christmas!
